Abstract

Tourism development

Number of guests staying at the five-star hotel in Bangka Belitung Province in May 2015, there were 23 109 people. This number increased by 24.10 percent compared to the previous month the number of guests who only amounted to 18 622 persons (Table 1). Increasing the number of guests happen to foreign and domestic guests. Foreign guests recorded increased by 129

people (50.59 percent) and domestic guests as many as 4,358 people (23.73 percent).

Room occupancy rate (TPK) star in Bangka Belitung Province in May 2015 amounted to 43.10 percent. TPK value in May rose by 6.21 points compared to the value of TPK April 2015 which amounted to 36.89 percent.
TPK highest five-star hotel by district / city in May 2015 is in Pangkalpinang (65.91 percent), followed by Central Bangka regency (42.46 percent) and Belitung (37.58 percent). While TPK Bangka only 27.25 percent.
On May 2015, the average length of stay of the total at the five-star hotel for 2.02 days, an increase when compared to the previous month. During the month of May, the average length of stay (2.22 days) of 0.2 days longer than the Indonesian guests (2.02 days).

Transportation development

The number of inter-island passenger sea transport departing from Bangka Belitung Province in May 2015, there were 17.42 thousand, up 18.91 percent over the previous month which stood at 14.65 thousand people. When compared with the same period in the previous year (January - May 2014), the number of passengers fell by 33.53 percent.

Total passenger sea transport between islands that come in Bangka Belitung Province in May 2015, there were 19.13 thousand people, also increased by 30.13 percent compared to 14.70 thousand people in April 2015. When compared to the same period last year, the the flow of incoming passengers also decreased by 15.19 percent.
The volume of goods loaded at the port in May 2015 reached 573.72 thousand tons, an increase of 10.82 percent when compared to the previous month were recorded 517.70 thousand tons. When compared with the same period the previous year an increase of up to 16.01 percent.
The volume of goods unloaded during the month of May 2015 amounted to 127.35 thousand tons, down 21.96 percent compared to the previous month amounted to 163.18 thousand tons. When compared with the same period the previous year (January to May 2014) a decline of 22.89 percent.
The number of air passengers departing from Bangka Belitung in May 2015 rose by 2.23 percent to 86.17 thousand people than ever before are as many as 84.29 thousand people.
The number of passengers who come to Bangka Belitung using air transport in May 2015 amounted to 80.64 thousand passengers, an increase of 3.74 percent compared to the previous month to reach 77.74 thousand people.
