This FGD discussed the potential of oil palm and pepper as economic drivers of Bangka Belitung outside the tin sector. The main challenges include declining productivity, pest attacks, price fluctuations, and legal and downstream constraints. The government has been working on seedling assistance, crop rejuvenation, and the development of processing industries to support the growth of this sector.

With a sustainable strategy, palm oil and pepper can become the new mainstay of Babel's economy.
