The fisheries sector is one of the important pillars in the economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Its contribution to the GRDP and regional economic growth is quite significant.

The quality of statistical data produced by the Marine and Fisheries Service (DKP) in measuring the contribution of this sector continues to be improved through coaching carried out by the BPS of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
