SUSENAS Data Evaluation Meeting towards Quality Data

Today Monday (12/2/2019) in the auditorium, BPS's Statistics of Social Statistics in the Province of Bangka Belitung Province conducted an evaluation meeting of the National Social Economic Survey (SUSENAS) September 2019. The meeting was attended by all the Section Heads and some BPS Social Statistics Section staff in the Bangka Island region. In addition to discussing SUSENAS data evaluation, participants will also be provided with material related to SDG indicators, calculation of new methods of safe drinking water and proper sanitation as well as introduction of cultural support indicators and achievements of the mental revolution.

The meeting was officially opened by the Head of BPS in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, Dwi Retno Wilujeng Wahyu Utami. Dwi Retno explained that SUSENAS was a survey conducted by BPS since 1963. Since then, the SUSENAS data has been widely used by various groups, both government, private and individual. For the Government, SUSENAS is a source of data for program planning, monitoring and evaluation purposes.

The highest gratitude and appreciation was conveyed by Dwi Retno to the parties involved in the SUSENAS activities so that the BPS of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province won the second best ranking nationally in 2016-2018 and ranked 13th in 2019 in the category of maintaining data quality. Dwi Retno added that the evaluation of the SUSENAS 2019 data quality was extended not only to the completeness of the data entry but to the overall process from updating households, enumerating price ranges, web monitoring, implementing enumeration to editing coding.

Finally Dwi Retno emphasized to all to keep the spirit in maintaining the quality of SUSENAS data amid various other activities. This is in line with BPS's vision of being the Pioneer of Reliable Statistical Data for All
